Childcare 6-12
Before & After School Care
YMCA in Greenfield Child Care has provided a fun, diverse, safe and comfortable environment for kids ages 5 to 14 for over two decades.
At the Y, your kids have a wealth of facilities and activities available daily, plus options for a weekly swim and/or gymnastics lesson. Before School Care is held in the Game Room and includes quiet games, stories, computers for homework, and use of the Kid Fit Center.
The After-School Care Program, which also has the Game Room as it’s home base, focuses on a value-based curriculum that incorporates physical education, homework help and more. A Junior Leaders Program for 5th and 6th graders allows kids to develop leadership skills by mentoring and modeling Y values for younger participants. An “Activate America” Food & Fun curriculum is part of our daily routine.
Our Child Care programs are Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) licensed. We provide a staff/child ratio of no more than 1:13, and comply with all EEC safety guidelines. We encourage parents to meet our staff and observe our programs.
Transportation to the YMCA can be provided from all Greenfield Public Schools, Sheffield/Hillcrest in Turners Falls, and Gill Elementary. All travel arrangements and fees must be confirmed with the Sr. Child Care Director. We participate in the State Voucher Program and sliding fees are available as well. Priority is given to those registering for five-day options; three-day and two-day registrations are accepted if and when there is a weekly match or available space.
