Diabetes Management Program
This is our new comprehensive diet, exercise and education program for people who are pre-diabetic and people that have been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. Studies have shown that regular exercise can help 58% of pre-diabetics from becoming diabetic. Also many type II diabetics can reduce the amount of medication they need to take through exercise and diet. Let the Y staff help you.
The program consists of three basic small group exercise classes per week, monthly support group meetings facilitated by Diabetes Nurse Educators, plus:
• Weekly Weigh-Ins.
• Initial Body Measurements.
• Weekly food journaling reviewed by Diabetes Educator.
Blood sugars will also be documented.
• Diabetes Support Groups on the first Saturday of every
month at 9 am.
