Group Groove
This new fitness class is a fitness fusion of many dance styles that creates an all out cardio jam.

Balance & Stretch is a gentle and relaxing stretch movement classs, with a component to help maintain flexibility and balance at the core. (W)
Cardio Fusion combines high- and low-impact aerobics and Reebok Step work. Includes jumping jacks, hopping and use of fitness props. (AR)
Core focuses on the core muscles of the abdomen and back and in 30 minutes works these muscles for better posture, movement and injury prevention. (AR)

E2 extreme exertion This 30 minute high intensity Calisthenic Circuit Class is for result oriented, avid exercisers looking to bring their fitness to the next level. There are 10 different stations with such exercises as the rope climb, medicine ball crunches, step-ups, physio ball abs, split jump squats and more! Must pre-register at the Welcome Center. Meets twice a week in the Y Gymnasium. See page 24 of the brochure or call the Welcome Center.
Flexibility Challenge This half-hour class offers flexibility training to tone and stretch the muscles. A gentle mat workout, this class is appropriate for all adults, even those with some physical limitations. (W)
Group Active® is just one hour of basic Step, strength training, balance and flexibility workouts! This is great for new or infrequent exercisers. (AR)

Osteroporosis Class Build up your bones and muscles with this new low level class, geared toward the 50 plus market. Class use light weights, bands and balls and is mostly done in a chair. FREE but must pre-register at the Welcom Center.
Pilates classes focus on correct spinal alignment, breathing and core strength. Workouts are mat-based; many props are used. (W)
PiyoTM is a completely unique, power, core strengthening and conditioning format. It is a faster paced class designed to effectively improve functional training and dynamic balance using a fusion of athletic conditioning, functional training, rhythmic movement, and Pilates and Yoga. PiYoTM is a high main-stream, contemporary, fun, innovative class which will push the limits of agility, balance and strength. (W)
Introduction to Hooping this class is all about cardio, core and connection! Hooping helps you tone your whole body, boost your metabolism, find rhythm and coordination, and laugh a lot while meeting wonderful people! Well-behaved children accompanied by a participating adult are welcome to join us; we encourage family and friends to work out together. Meets Tues & Thurs 7:15 - 8:15 pm In the Y Gymnasium
SilverSneakers® 1. Muscular Strength & Range of Movement Move to the music in exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing and a ball are used for resistance; chairs can be used for support. (AR) (G)
Turbo Kick® combines shadow boxing, kickboxing, sports drills and dancing, yoga and T’ai Chi for a real mix. Routines change every session so participants get lots of practice with the moves. (AR)
Yoga for Breast Cancer Survivors Gental yoga geared toward women recovering from breast cancer. Free but must pre-register with Jayne Trosin 413-773-3646 ext 448.
Yoga unifies body, mind and spirit; increases flexibility and mobility; and teaches stress-relieving tools. All levels are welcome. (W)
Zumba® is the hottest dance craze sweeping the country, with easy-to-follow steps set to a variety of music. Prepare to sweat! (AR)

Water Fitness & Aquacize
This class utilizes the buoyant qualities of water to enhance overall physical fitness.
Without added stress and strain on the joints, this class increases physical strength and endurance. Class is appropriate for swimmers and non-swimmers.
Beginner Water Aerobics
Increase your aerobic and muscular fitness and flexibility in a safe, low-impact environment. Class starts with simple exercise combinations basic to water fitness.Confident participants can choose to move into more challenging and complex classes.
Water Rehab/Therapy
This is an opportunity for adult facility members to use half the pool for individual exercising.
Water walking, jogging or stretching. Individuals needing help entering or exiting the water must bring their own assistant.
H.A.R.T.: Hydro Aerobic Rigorous Training
This is a deep and shallow intense full body cardio workout. Resistors and weights and bench steps will be used. YES, you can sweat in the water!! Class meets on Saturday’s at 8:30am.
Sunrise Pool Power
Moderate to High Intensity cardio and muscle conditioning class utilizing both the shallow and deep end. It will incorporate a variety of different pool workouts as determined by the instructor. Equipment is optional but will be available. Class meets MWF at 7:15am
Cardio Abs
Cardio Abs : For all abilities and fitness levels. We will be concentrating on the entire abdominal region, hips, buttocks, and thighs. Class meets on Sunday’s at 11:30am
Aquatic Pilates & Core Conditioning
This class teaches you correct alignment while strengthening core muscles.
A 45-minute water workout that focuses on achieving correct alignment of the spine, improving flexibility, balance and movement while strengthening core muscles of the abdomen and back.
Fees: Gold Member • $34 Silver Member $38 • PA $60
Adult and Senior Lap Swim
Time for Adult & Senior (ages 62 and up)
Facility Members to swim continuous laps in half the pool.
Lap Speed depends on swimmers present.
Water Therapy 1
(FMC-YMCA)
The YMCA-Baystate Franklin Medical Center Aquatic Rehab Program may be right for you. Our program has a high success rate, with participants recovering much faster and to a greater degree. Ask your doctor if this is appropriate therapy for you. You or your doctor may call FMC Physical Therapy or the YMCA Aquatic Department for details. Doctor/ therapist approval is required. Swimming skills are NOT necessary. Register at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

We offer a continuing program for ANYONE in need of orthopedic rehabilitation.
No referral or prescription from your doctor or therapist is needed.
